The maxon motor Group is strengthening its worldwide network in the market for high-precision drives and systems, with the establishment of a new subsidiary – maxon motor Australia – on the 01.11.2007. The move has clearly enhanced the Swiss technology company’s presence in Australia and New Zealand.

maxon motor was previously represented in Australia by M. Rutty & CO Pty Ltd. With immediate effect, the entire maxon product program, comprising brushless and brush DC motors, planetary, spur and special gearheads as well as servoamplifiers and positioning controllers, will only be sold to Australia and New Zealand through the new subsidiary which is based in Hornsby just 25 km North from the Sydney CBD.

maxon motor is stressing the importance of the Australian market by taking such a step, creating a basis for increasing its growth in Australia and New Zealand. Over the past five years, the company has grown sales by an average of 20% down under and now, with a focused and dedicated business, is expecting further dynamic growth in the drive market.

maxon motor specialises in producing and developing customised precision drives. With the new subsidiary, the micro motor manufacturer is looking to address the needs of the Australian and New Zealand market even faster and with more flexibility.

Globally, maxon motor has an annual sales volume of CHF 286.8 million with a workforce of over 1,500 staff, and is represented by 11 subsidiaries and more than 20 authorised dealers, from Europe through Africa, Asia and Australia to America.
